I've worked with both SecureCRT and Putty. They're both good.

Prefer SecureCRT but will use Putty when it isn't available.

Got a free licence to f-secure from school. Been very happy with it, and could even recommend it.

I've always used PuTTY, but recently I used SSH Secure Shell (http://www.ssh.com/products/security/secureshellwks/) and I'd recommend it. It even allows file transfers.

                                Trust the "WOW" effect.

SFTP is a component of SSH 2, correct?

so if i use filezilla it would have the same type of secure transfer of files as if i used Putty?

so each of these programs will allow ftp like ws_ftp, but securely?

                                          i think that's what i am asking.
