    Cyberage Changes

Seems Cyberage is the next to force changes to try and cling in there.

I've been calling this for some time. Honestly though, I thought that Cyberage being so large would be the last to change.

The letter for those who didn't get it...

    ---
    Dear Webmasters,

In order to comply with new regulations, it has become necessary for us to change the wording of the CyberAge sign-up scripts. The new scripts may be found in the webmaster stats area in the "New Scripts" option in the drop box.

These changes are mandatory but for the moment, there is no set deadline. We are trying to give you a head start so that when a date is set, you'll be that much further ahead.

Although this will require a lot of hard work, it is not the end of the world. The new scripts are really nice and you'll be able to choose the one you want for your site. For many people, this would be a great time to look at older sites and clean them up a bit. You might be surprised at how many sales you are losing to simple mistakes so this would be a great time to double check your work.

If you have any questions, please feel free to stop by AVS Programs
(http://www.avsprograms.com) and ask. We value you as a webmaster and we really want to make this as easy as possible. It won't be easy but together we can make it work.

    Best wishes,
    CyberAge-Dave

These new regulations will severely thin out the AVS's and third party billing comapnies by the end of the year.

    Only the strong will survive.

I have held the opinion for quite some time that the AVS model as we know it is dead. I know for a fact that VISA is very unhappy with the AVS model, because of the legal implications.

Well, if getting 0 signups for 170+ join page hits on a well known popular system last period is any indication, I'd say you are right.

I'm seriously considering whether I want to even bother building any more AVS sites....
it only took one brick to make that window drop

would you rather they not change things a bit and just close up shop?
