    first and second page hits

depending on the program, they will count first page or second page hits.

what is the conversion difference, on average?

for example the first page conversion could be 1:1000 and the second page conversion would be 1:500?

So you send the first page 1k clicks. About 70% of those clicks click-thru to the second page. From those clicks, you make 2 sales.

So, if a program counts first page clicks, your overall conversion would be 1:500. If the program counts second page clicks, your conversion would be 1:350. You're making the same exact amount of money, the second option just LOOKS better.

The above is just one of the many reasons that you shouldn't put that much weight on conversions. Watch your paycheck. Be happy...

I just noticed I didn't even answer your question. Haha. Sorry, I have no idea what the average is. With one sponsor I'm getting 68%. Some "average" would be nice!
