For me it is a way of eating healthier rather than something to take seriously.. I am eating dairy products as well like milk, plain yogurt, eggs and fish once in a while but no turkey or chicken at all. It started two yr. ago when I was taking Herbalife products (soy, minerals, vitamins and herbs all in one) after an accident and a surgery and became a new person.
You should ask someone who is really serious about the principles of vegetarianism. I can cook and serve you the best meal still you want... I am never pushy. It works for me, that's all but my motto is tolerance. To live and let live.

I won't eat my dog or the neighbor's cat, that would be wrong morally But I am feeling much better and healthier especially when I can get 6-8 hr of sleep.
