to get a temp fix, so you can get the computer online long enough to patch it... ctrl+alt+del and close down the process called msblast.exe

also if you turn a firewall on it will stop it... but you will still be infected

Do a search, you are #64 this week posting it on gfy.

They should make a sticky thread about it.

I wish I would have seen this yesterday. I thought my PC was buggered up so I started backing everything up and I am now in the process of reinstalling windows and all my programs. (typing this on a different computer)

None of those sites really say, is this a virus I have come in contact with, or is it just because I am not using a firewall?

I didn't think I really needed one because I am stuck on dialup here.

don't care about the reason. i'm just glad they can't afford macs!

i get about 300 virus emails a day. i've had 2 system deaths due to viruses before i finally switched to mac. i can do everything on a mac that i was doing on a pc except play games and chat on the net. So i have a pc sitting here too for that. But no email goes into that one!

Seems like lots of new worms coming out lately. I guess all the script kiddies are 'enjoying' their summer holidays ;).
