My favorite book I ever read was Steinbeck's East of Eden.

Check out the Dave Pelzer trilogy, "A Child Called It", "The Lost Boy" and "A Man Named Dave" - the best written books that I've ever come across.

My last book is The Ghost of Flight 401, by John G. Fuller... or if non-fiction counts, then it was The Highway Code.

Are we limited to just one book? I've read so many great books that it's hard just to choose one. My top list would include the following books in no particular order:

1) "The Outsiders" by S.E. Hinton
2) "Stranger In A Strange Land" by Robert Heinlein
3) "The Hobbit" by JRR Tolkien (and all the other Middle Earth books)
4) "Stormbringer" by Michael Moorcock (and all the other Elric books)
5) "Dracula" by Bram Stoker
6) "Frankenstein" by Mary Shelley
7) "Hobgoblin" by John Coyne
8) "Children of the Night" by Mercades Lackey (and all the other Diana Tregarde books)
9) "Dark Shadows" by Marilyn Ross (and all the rest in the series even though I've only read a small handful of them)
10) "The Man of Bronze" by Kenneth Robeson (and all the other Doc Savage books)

I just finished my fourth Anita Blake book earlier this afternoon. "Guilty Pleasures" by Laurell K. Hamilton is another thrilling adventure of that adorable tough-as-nails vampire slayer. Anita Blake is 100% better than Buffy the Vampire Slayer. I still have four more books to read. In a way, the Anita Blake series reminds me alot of the Diana Tregarde series.

I also love alot of the short stories writers such as Poe & Lovecraft. Oh, my favorite Classic book would be "Of Mice And Men."

Ahhhhh a good book is like heaven on earth, such a shame people don't read more than they watch TV/Movies. Don't they realize that the mind will conjure up much better visuals than watching TV/Movies...Kubrick films and a few others excluded.

"Replay" by Ken Grimm. I read this years ago and they are just now getting around to making a movie from it. If you see it anywhere, get it.
and I have my guilty pleasure. "A night in shining armor" by Jude Deveraux.
I love Robin Cook.

I hate to fucking read, Ive been doing it all my damn life, and I figure if it aint good enough for TV or the Movies it aint worth reading.

Nothing beats the hobbit and the lords of the rings, it's just the best you can get..

instead of just creating a plot and some small time zone / geographical settings, this guy just went and created a whole fuckin world with it's 5,000 years history and all...

I recently finished a book my mother gave to me quite a long time ago, but being in school, found it difficult to actually pick it up and read, with all of the other shit they had me reading...
anyways, i finished it, and have to say i was really impressed.
i dont think its much of a 'guys' book, but the ladies should appreciate it, esp if they have a good, even bad relationship with their mothers. its called: Divine Sectrets of the Ya-Ya Sisterhood by Rebecca Wells.

I also LOVE the "Ender's Game" series by Orson Scott Card, and "Nine Stories" by J.D. Salinger.

Stephan King is a good writer but I can't get into his novels. His best short stories are "The Breathing Method", "Dolan's Cadillac", and "Strawberry Spring".
