    Gamecube - not bad!

Got my first 3 hour session on a mate's gamecube today. Not bad at all for $200.

Rouge Squadron is awesome. Worth checking out.

Only thing is the mini-cds - can't see them being very strong.

I don't like the mini-dvd format...it will be impossible to make back-ups. I have backup copies of all my favorite PSX games because the originals get scatched up over the years, mostly from people borrowing them. Guess I'll have to be more stingy with my Game Cube games.

He had another game too (can't remember what it was called, but it involved monkey's hitting each other with gloves to knock you off a disc and a version of mario kart) which was pretty impressive too. The sound effects alone were enough to make me snort my Mountain Dew

Looks like a good buy for $200 - remains to be seen what the quality of the games will be like in about a year and I still think the PS2 has too big of a head start for it to be another huge console war like back in the Super Nintendo/Sega Megadrive days, but this next year sure is going to be interesting for gamers.

If you've got the cash, pick one up.

Hmmmm i think my gift to myself will be the PS2 for Xmas. I just saw Spy Hunter being reviewed on a tv game review show and it looked frickin awesome! They gave it 10/10!

I hope you can still do the oil slicks and smoke screens like you used to be able to do in the old one.

Gamecube rocks! I finally had to unplug it and stick it in corner so I could get some work done. I can't wait for more games like Rogue Squadron to come out, as it is there are a bunch of football games, which I'm not into at all...

I just bought a Game Cube yesterday, kinda dissapointed. Can't play regular DVD's, games are no better than PS2 games. Star Wars has nice graphics, but nothing different or special from a good PS2 game.

I don't think they stand a chance in hell against the PS2 let alone the xbox, Xbox is a level up from PS2, GC is an equal, but htey have a late start, don't play DVD's, and there aren't many good games.

BTW, SpyHunter is pretty good, not a 10/10, Grand Theft Auto is 10x better, first game it took me more than 3 days to beat, and then kept playing even after I beat it.
