    Techie help needed please?

I have some video files on my hard drive and I want to be able to put them on a cd that will run on my dvd player, is there a way to do this? I have used about every file format I can think of but maybe I am doing something wrong. I have a new dvd player that will play mp3s and videos and all this, but I can't seem to hit the right format or something. Does anyone know how to make this happen?

Is there something special I have to do when I record them to a cd that will make them play?

    Tam

Tam, you need to convert it to be a VCD.
I don't know exactly how it works, but you convert to some file type, and a software will burn a CD-R and made it a VideoCD (VCD). So if your DVD player supports VCD, it'll play like a DVD.

I'll buy a DVD only in January, so I didn't test it yet. Have DVD just at my notebook, and just used it to test a dvd, didn't even watched it.

You will have to burn the files as vcd/svcd . The files will also have to be in mpeg format. You should be able to figure out how to do it by reading up at http://www.vcdhelper.com. Hope that helps you
              Good Luck

That's correct. I recall cd creator pro can burn VCDs (video cds). You don't need a dvd writer.
