I have 'em both, MCSP, I use W2K when I need stability, and I use Win XP to learn the new stuff. I would vote for W2K unless you need something in XP.

I've allways used NT4.0 but since about 6 months I run wink2K pro and I really love it.
Just as stable as NT4.0 but more up to date.

XP is the xmas tree of windows.
Too fancy and too much stuff you never use.

I use both...2K on the laptop and XP on the desktop.

Been using XP for over a month now and blue-screened it exactly once! It's stable as hell and has much better support for modern hardware than 2K does. It's nice too look at too but you can skin 2K anywhich way you want as well.

The best additions to XP for my money are:
1) Integrated cd burning from explorer.
2) Winzip integrated into the shell...you don't have to open winzip to peek inside zip files, they show up as folders in explorer and you just open them and manipulate the files etc.

Ok so far win2k is the big winner i guess.

I work alot with video capturing and stuff and i think win XP has some nice options for that tho.

Yeah? Only if it integrates into the XP shell the way Winzip does now. I don't even need to touch winzip...it's just part of explorer now. Can't beat that with a stick bro

I also have WinRAR for those pesky tarballs.
