i would love to do more client work with rest api (i do lots of work of my own using the api), but your average end user doesnt know how to setup the node.js applications, thats why they want to stick with wordpress or a custom php system.

But right now just do it with what resources you have.

you can load node.js apps fine on vps. i would rather do that than use vercel, as its more expensive using vercel.

for a specific niche/style site I actually like the design overall, but for a general tube having one large video at the top is not gonna spark a lot of interest from anyone who isn't into that type of content

as it stands visitors have to scroll a lot (past the top vid and then the text underneath, wondering why that's placed so prominently above at least a row or two of actual videos?) to see the variety offered

For referral programs I would keep attribution simple before making the frontend fancy. One clean landing page, unique links, visible stats, and manual payout audit beats a big dashboard nobody trusts. Are you tracking revshare or flat CPA first?
