Candidhosting going down ?

06/16/2003 I orderd a box there
the money was vired over and got
lost in there book keeping

They found it 07/07/2003

on 07/18/2003 I asked what was going on
and was told that the box had been running
for a week. I checked and It was running
They forgot to tell me

I orderd some IP´s and asked them to set up my domains

07/25/2003 still nothing on the box
07/26/2003 I was told that everything
was running, so I logged in

Still nothing.

I asked them to refund my money since
they havent´deliverd what I orderd
But they did not respond to e-mail´s

There has been a lot of post lately
about there support
about servers running slow
and so on

So I started to wonder if candid is in trobble ?
It does not seem that "solid" to me

yo did you contact your sales rep? When i have any needs my sales rep takes care of things asap.

As far as support issues, my shit gets down within 10 min for emertgency shit and alittle longer for standard stuff

Ive never had problems with them at all in the customer service dept. When there have been problems, they have rectified them in an appropriate amount of time.

Candid gave me a server with bad RAM. It took me over a month of contacting them almost daily, before they finally looked into the reason my server was going down all the time, instead of just rebooting the server.

The frustration I was experiencing, I wouldn't wish on anyone. I have never been given the runaround like that, in my entire life.

i took 14 days untill my domainname was online, 3 weeks untill i could see any stats on it

now after 1 month...... no email yet, TM3 script not working because of some script line they have to put it to forward script page top index.....

i've had a box w/ them 4 yrs now. they set up the configuration i wanted w/i 1 week. no down time. excellent connections. great prices. the few times i called w/ emergencies they are taken care of right now. sometimes have to nag to get routine stuff done.

One of my boxes with Candid was hacked - And the hackers deleted most of the conf files as well as many others - I couldn't get logged on to ftp and there were countless thousands of other problems caused by this - I phoned many times, emailed hundreds of times - I got not one answer.

I employ a guy who is shit hot with severs - He was pissed with candid because they never upgraded certain system scripts that should have been -

And this is problematic throughout the hosting biz - Many upgrades are released weekly - But unless you ask, you will not get.

Ya ok the bottom line is HOW candid handles it when they are down. The fuckers are quick to hit anyone with a quote but when there fuckin ultra slow and up and down like a yo-yo their NOWHERE to be found or heard of on here. ISPRIME is the light at the end of your dark Candid tunnel. Nuff said. Its all in how its handled

You need to make a phone call and talk to your billing rep. Their techsupport lags and is difficult to work with, but their sales department is really top notch and professional. They'll take care of your billing issues.

BTW, even though their techsupport lags on issues, they will get what you need done eventually. Like I've said before, if you need something done with candid, just make sure you have at least a week before it really needs to get done.

I just requested a domain to be added to the nameservers etc and experience says it will take a week to 10 days. Do all hosts take about that long?

I had an issue which after 4 weeks of conversing back and forth, has just now been resolved correctly. I've also had smaller issues that were resolved in a couple of days, so that "have 1 week to spare" scale is just an overall average.

Um... no.

Depending on how busy tech support is at any given time, it shouldn't take very long at all. Adding a domain is simple. Even I know how to add a domain to the Apache configuration file and I haven't logged into a server for years.

Candid are THE WORST hosting company ON THIS PLANET. Your experience is EXACTLY the same as I've had when setting up 4 servers with them, 2 of them are moved off now, 2 more will move also soon.

They set your server up, they send you FTP access that doesn't work, root passwords that don't work. Nothing fucking works with these people.

STAY AWAY FROM CANDID HOSTING there support will make you pull your hair out.
