in 6 days, I hit 30.

I still feel like i just turned 16.

If my wife or daughter doesn't tell me to "grow up" at least once a day, my day is incomplete.

All my similiarly aged friends, act like old people.

This makes me sad, but not for long.

when my dad was in his 60's i asked him what did it feel like now to be 'old' - he told me he felt the same as he did when he was 4, essentially the same person inside. and he's right - your body changes, you have lots of issues and responsibilities but you remain the same personality i think from a very young age until they cover you with dirt.

there is some truth to age being just a number and a state of mind. depends on your perception mostly. my dad was also fond of saying 'it's not how many years you've lived it's how many you've got left'. nobody knows - only thing i envy with younger people than me is I know the perception a 20 year old has that you have all the time in the world - middle age seems forever away.

20's are great - they last forever it seems. 30-40 goes by in the blink of an eye and i'm sure 40-50 is worse.

Here's a fun little game/test:

Ask someone (you can start with yourself!) how old they are.....then ask them how old they FEEL inside.

If their answer is wildly different then their actual age then you know you are not dealing with a mature, responsible, together person. Now I don't mean "I feel like a kid!" but rather, if they are in fact 43 and they say they feel as if they are 17 inside then you know they gots problems.
