I have Direct TV at home, and like it a lot. I have it for the living room, and all bedrooms(4), and kitchen.

It works well with TiVo.

In fact, it operates off blacklisted bins. Just write the blacklisted bin to your card, write a new activation with activation workshop, and thats it.

Been up for month now since I got it, no problems. Cant get it to seat properly in my Sony IRD but the Samsung works perfect.

the wafer sits underneath your card, you slide them both in, there is nothing to do to it. You just glitch and activate your card.

This is how I understand it to work.

Directv is rapidly moving towards P4 and phasing out HU by early next year. They havent been doing jack shit to P4 CAM ID's as nobody has figured out how to clone or clean them (as far as I know). So what the wafer does is generate a random P4 CAM ID each time you boot your reciever.

Been using it for a month now on my old blacklisted bins and my own activations.

I know Red Devil (and others) will have troubles as the CAM IDs are not generated randomly on them. Soon as it gets hit, thats it.

Dave has been sending down 5-7 rotating CMDs a week..so nothing is lasting long.

My own personal fixes have last at most 2 weeks.
Thats with not a single soal besides myself having it.
The ones I do make seem to get canned within a few days by rotating hashes...so its a cat and mouse game.

There was a no745 bin floating around for awhile but it went 744 on me, while its still working for some people I know.

To tell you the truth, I didnt know there was such a thing as a reciever that only accepted P4.

I have a later model Sony that got "winked" and I cant get an HU to work in it. There is supposed to be an unwink fix somewhere but Im too lazy to find it.

The website says it works with P4 cards.

You can still find 3Ms just not any good ones. Back in the day (a year ago) you could get them to last a month plus. I havent had one last 3 days in the last few months. Thats why I went for the wafer.

If you have the original bin that came with your card, all you need to do is write some activations for it.

Illegal? Im sure it violates some TOS, but I got literally a hundred old ones on my hard drive.

I know use just to clean ( it also has a very strong unloop feature) before writing with Extreme.

My latest bin with activation has been up for 10 days... not bad in these hards times.
