check out singing competitions. no one there singing their first song in their life. and no one with RFKjr's voice is trying out. u gotta have some ability and then practice a lot.

cam models - day one they all suck, some don't get a single private, even with natural ability. 3 years in they are sucking the fans dry.

I played in a band a long time ago. I practiced constantly on my guitar. We finally got a pretty good band together. One of our friends hung around with us all the time. He went somewhere for about 3 months. He came back and could play a guitar like nobody's business. Finger picking and just blowing all of our minds.

He had a natural talent for the guitar. I played because of persistance, perseverence, and determination. Playing came easy for our friend, he didn't give a fuck, never really cared about his talent. He just let it go.

I had a natural talent for the drums, but ended up with a guitar. Go figure.

Not giving up and pushing through after failing over and over is a talent. Success doesnt come to you over night so hell yea you need to work hard and be obsessed.
A natural gift is a different story ie you dont really develop a great singing voice with practice or paint Mona Lisa level drawings - there needs to be some sort of natural gift embedded here to become successul combined with hard work & determination.
