    On-Set Talent Testing

    Hey everyone!

I recently implemented a new on-set STD testing protocol for talent that I wanted to share.

I found these urine kits that test for 6 of the most common STDs and the results are available within minutes.

    https://valhallavitality.com/service...pid-unire-test

These can be used as an extra measure in conjunction with the required Full Panel STD blood testing.

You can use the "pooling" method with these tests kits similar to what labs do with blood samples.

With this method, all the talent will urinate in individual collection cups with their names marked on them. Pour a small amount of urine from each cup into the main testing cup but keep the original samples. If the result from the pooled urine is negative, then no additional testing is required. If however the sample test is positive then each one of the remaining urine samples will have to be tested separately to determine who is positive.

If for example you were doing a 6 person gangbang then you would need at least 7 test kits just in case there's a positive result.

That doesn't detect the worst STDs: HIV, Syphilis, Hepatitis.

      Useless.

+ messing with urine samples of actors and testing them on set is not just disgusting, but also time consuming.
      no sig, sorry

If I have to explain the point to you then you probably wouldn't understand it.

Correct and that's what the blood testing is for as I clearly stated, or did you stop reading to throw up after you saw "urine".

If you're grossed out by urine on-set then you're obviously not a producer. I've had to deal with EVERY single body fluid on-set and urine is the least of my worries. It's not like we're dealing with needles and blood.

BTW, testing isn't for prevention, it's for containment. The ONLY prevention would be testing everyone before every shoot which obviously isn't practical.

For example: Someone can get tested on day 1 and on day 2 unknowingly contracts HIV, Syphilis, Hepatitis, etc but they are cleared for the next 12 days.

I believe testing on-set right before a shoot will be the future. Testing every 14 days is great but how many people can someone fuck in 14 days? A lot, especially considering how many talent also escort.

This isn't the complete answer to testing but it's one step closer and I believe we'll eventually be at a point where a urine test can detect everything.

Yeah, sorry, I missed the part about the conjunction with the full panel blood testing, but still I wouldn't want to touch actors' urine. I do shoot porn and that's the point, this is a job for lab technicians, not for producers. LOL. I just find it disgusting to handle someone else's piss or any other bodily fluids, especially males... (will leave that for CurrentlySober )

Doing any testing on set is pain in the ass. I used to do HIV testing (saliva tests) and Syphilis blood tests (capillary blood) and also urine drug tests. It was slow, time consuming, messy and tiresome. And ultimately it also cost more than a proper lab test. These are all home test kits for individuals, not for testing on porn shoots.

Well, that's one of the occupational risks and the actors are aware of that. If they are afraid, they should choose a different job. It's their responsibility, not mine.

I've been shooting for a long time and I'm proud to say I have never had a single health incident on-set (knock on wood). The only health issues I even hear about are when females have to cancel one of my scheduled shoots because they contracted something on a big brand set out of LA or Miami. My guess is most of those cases are from off-set but I don't know for sure. It's only happened a few times but in all the cases it was gonorrhea or chlamydia. This test could have prevented those situations and the talent wouldn't be out of work for 10 days. At the end of the day we all want the same thing which is to make some money, have some fun and go home safe.

Body fluids don't bother me a bit and as I mentioned I clean up the majority of the shoot fluids. I can see how some producers don't want to deal with fluids and testing so they can have the talent test their own urine if they want. It's a simple and fast test. They are a bit pricey but it's a business write-off and cheap insurance to protect your talent. Proper safety systems are always layers.

It's an option that I wanted to share so take it with a grain of salt.

                Yup, standing by

its a tough job, but I'm willing to put myself forward - as well as cover my own airfare and accommodation needed to attend the shoot... Hell, I'll even PAY YOU if you ask me nicely

                Thanks for thinking of me

I love living outside of the west. I go to the pharmacy and grab similar day of shooting even with tests and they cost maybe $3 dollars lol
