    Globill Webmasters Need a Solution?

For those left without processing, in light of Globill's terrible news yesterday, we may have a solution for you to save your business. We handle all billing, hosting, 2257 recordkeeping, and help with traffic for all sites on our network. You maintain all control over your own site. We have room for a few sites to join us now. If you're interested in discussing it further, email me at

Unfortunately, it's not legal for you to handle 2257 recordskeeping... because unless you are the legal custodian of records, and you have all the records on location, and your location is the place of business of whomever took the pictures and is required to keep the records (in other words if you are not the producer), you can't legally do that. Just like it's not legal for a lawyer to act as custodian of records unless he's a part of the company and his offices are on the business premises. Nice try though.

We are not offering an avs solution, but a partnership.
As partners, with an ownership interest (throughout the duration of the contract) we can indeed offer use of our offices as a record keeping facility.

In any event, we are offering a helping hand to the people who were devastated by yesterday's news, and hoping that no one will need to close their business. It's nice to know there are options

That's easy to say, but anyone in the US who falls for that crap (the 2257 stuff) is asking for jailtime. It's not legal to have someone like that "handle" 2257 unless they are the primary producers of the content OR they are the secondary producers (content providers). Having a third party deal with that is NOT legal.. Just like it's NOT legal to have a lawyer acting as your custodian of records, unless of course you're doing business out of his office (if you are the producer). The rest of the services they are offering is GREAT, fine, go nuts! All the power to you! Solutions in these bad times are GREAT! However, it would not be in one's legal best interests to avail themselves of the "recordskeeping" services, as that particular point would get people in trouble Perhaps emanuelle can look into that further

For sure it is nice that there are options.. And it sounds like you're trying hard to provide people with another one.. Hats off to ya :P Still, you should check into the legality of that though because it would be a shame if people got in trouble over it.. being in Canada you aren't subject to 2257 laws.. However, any US partners would be Just a suggestion :P

Um.... here' another problem. The visa regs for chargebacks apply to all the domains listed under one account. If you add several domains to one account to avoid having to pay the $750 for each one all you need is for one person to have a site that blows your 1% chargeback over the top and every one of those domains gets hit with the penalties.

Perhaps LM can read my post again a little more thoroughly ;-)
(yep- those smilies make it all better, don't they?)

If someone does not feel comfortable about the 2257 issue, then by all means deal with it whatever way you see fit. I am not getting into a legal discussion with you - we both have US attorneys, and while we each choose to believe our own counsel, there are indeed some areas that are subjective.

This thread is not about 2257, it's about helping people save their businesses.

Hammer- our network is tightly monitored to make sure that site owners deliver what is promised. A partner with a high chargeback rate will be removed from the program rather than jeopardize the others. Fortunately we have a huge existing member base to soften the ratio. Carolcox.com has a nearly non existant chargeback level, and her site of course handles the bulk of the transactions.

When a registration is sent to Visa, it includes all subaccounts and cooresponding URLs. If one website runs high chargebacks (1% + over 100 cb per month) that account can effectively close every site that was registered with it!!! NOT just the one site in trouble.

All websites are impacted because you are terminated at the SPONSORED MERCHANT LEVEL.

This info comes directly from CCBill.

This may be but you just made on offer to add Gobill customers to your list to help out. What guarantee will you have that one of those website owners won't run into an unforseen chargeback issue that might then take your network percentage over 1%? When that happens, everyone in your network is gonna have to bend over again.

With a 5 digit member base, a person would have to incur an awful lot of chargebacks in order to jeopardize everyone. I can assure you that even one will grab our attention right away.

People just don't learn do they ?

For all those webmasters that lost money with Globill, sorry but you get what you pay for. If you are rushing around trying to find some low cost or no cost billing solution. Guess what there isn't one, you have to pay the $750 to each processor you use or you will have exactly the same situation as happened on Friday all these billing companies that purport to have a no cost solution will suffer the same fate as Globill. Visa will find them tell their banks to stop processing for them and you will lose more money. Don't come crying back to GFY about how you lost all your billings because you have been warned hundreds of times. There are only a handful of processors left that comply with Visa and Mastercard, of those only Epoch (Paycom) and CCbill have any credibility. Ibill should be avoided like the plaque because of their constant CMI problems, consistent billing problems and non existent customer service. Call Amparo at Epoch on 310. 577-2439 or Lange at CCbill both are nice people they know what's going on and will help newbies as well as veteran webmasters. If you use anyone else its your own fault if you lose money . If you cannot afford $750. then you are in the wrong business. Rant over!!!

                                      Cindy xx

Couldn't have said it better Cindy. I think Emmanuelle means well but it's a big mistake, both for them and for anyone that takes her up on the offer.

People, pay the damn $750 and then contact ccBill and be done with it.

Everyone is always looking for a cheap way around the system and it always comes back to bite them in the ass. Always.

Call Amparo at Epoch on 310. 577-2439 or Lange at CCbill both are nice people they know what's going on and will help newbies as well as veteran webmasters. thanks for repeating what we've read over and over again yesterday and today.

some people who were with globill.. were with globill way before the visa regulations started and weren't trying to find a way to NOT pay the $750 fee. they were simply going about business as usual. so quit trying to lump all globill webmasters into the cheap skate looser category.

People, pay the damn $750 and then contact ccBill and be done with it.

Everyone is always looking for a cheap way around the system and it always comes back to bite them in the ass. Always.
the people over at CarolCox.com aren't idiots.. if they were.. i'm sure they wouldn't have one of the biggest amateur empires on the internet today. i'm sure they will only accept a select few that fit into their business plan and won't just sign on any asshole that wants to join up with them.

Gee Cindy, I wonder how much the Epoch/CCBill people are paying you these days.

Emma and the Carol Cox crew are rock solid people.

With all of the problems with third party processors (perhaps you forgot that Epoch is experiencing cash flow problems?)

I don't see how you can criticize an alternative solution coming from the Rose people.

They are NOT fly-by-night operators. If you had any experience in this business at all, you would know that.

Sorry CIndy but you do not really have much room to talk. You are processing with a company that has been fined more than once by the card associations and still owes many webmasters funds from a couple of years ago. Not that Epoch is not a decent company but if you were really concerned about "you get what you pay for", you would not be with an IPSP that is on shakey grounds with Visa and Mastercard, would you? Open your eyes.

Fact 1: Not every Globill webmaster was there to "avoid" the Visa fees. Some were there before the fees ever came down. Others were there because they couldn't afford it (totally different than 'avoiding' it) and were using it until their site earned the fee. Still others were there because they're Canadian and they couldn't find a solution that worked for them.
Lumping them all together is like saying ALL adult webmasters are crooks.

Fact 2: I spoke with Billy last night in detail about what WRP is offering and it's a solution that has a lot going for it. Full hosting, lots of plugins, they handle the bullshit referer spoofers and password crackers for you, you get to advertise other sites along with your membership, etc.
