Well - very shortly you won't have a choice. If you don't turn on GA4 before Universal Analytics sunsets in July 2023, data will no longer be collected from users on your website, leaving you blind to what's happening on your website. You won't know where users are coming from, how long they're staying on your site, where they're dropping off and more. You can still access any previously processed data on Universal Analytics until 2024. (Originally end of 2023, but Google extended it to give businesses more time for the transition)

If you want some help doing it let me know

Is this something you could post a tutorial on? I know he is not the Lone Ranger as far as this goes.

Appreciate that Baddog - maybe a basic one because there are several factors so many sites have it's hard to say one size fits all. That's assuming the original analytics was set up correctly Other factors come into play Eg one client I have has over 20 sites and I ended up putting them all together under one property and properly labeled (easier) - then there are others who use google ads while others never even put in their keywords - the list goes on. On top of that I'd want to make sure that his google search console is running smoothly and the site is indexed properly with a good site map (yes I've seen new clients without one) - making sure no errors are on the site as well etc. and the coding on his site has the new GA4 code rather than the old one.

That's why I was suggesting he contact me directly and I'll do my best to either walk him through it or do it myself (no charge) as I don't foresee he would have much in the way of difficulty.

i built a GA RTV style panel in the upcoming all-new version of PornCMS. this sample is pre-release. i have a couple more ideas to add..

many clients use GA on marketing sites, so i will be doing a bunch of conversions in the next few months.

Yandex metrika is a good replacement for free but then some may have reservations for that company.

                      Bing & microsoft webmaster tools!

BING is an option! its way easier to setup as microsoft guides your trough the entire prossess easily it also has a windows store app

2 analytics data from 2 search engines is better than one? YES! besides

Short things short!? You dont need google nor bing!
you could also use your servers internal statistics apps

pspp is installed on your server & apears in your cpanel

i am milking seo traffic in large numbers without google anal since 2008, ..using GA for porn is like columbians asking the IRS to support their business model to grow their market in the us. i think its a mythm to believe it will do any good to your sites using it .if your mostly spamming affiliate links ,and thats what most of us do, in best scenario its a time waster in worse it will help google to track your network and kill search results

The problem with GA4 is that if you have traffic from Europe, you have to implement a cookie consent popup to comply with the GDPR laws. In theory, you cannot record any data before you get consent, or if consent is declined. It means that your data will be off, because a lot of people decline. It is the most powerful free analytic tool though. And there may be a way to make it work cookieless but I have not found it yet...

Tools like plausible.io are great, but the pricing is proportional to your traffic, so you may have to pay a substantial amount if you have a lot of visitors.

After looking at a lot of those privacy centric analytics, I chose Cloudflare web-analytics.

It is far from being perfect: the analytics they provide is limited and a bit off, but it is totally FREE and cookieless... So no GDPR popup.
