Brain Teaser #2

A killer tells these 3 guys he is going to kill them within 1 hour if they don't tell him before 1 hour is up what color hat is on their head, and the wrong answer will get them killed. All 3 guys are very intelligent. They are standing in a straight line and the guy in the front can't see the 2 guys in back of him, and the guy in the middle can only see the guy in front of him, and the guy in the back can only see the 2 guys in front of him. Not one of the guys can see the color of hat they have on their own head. There are 5 total hats, (3 white hats and 2 black hats). The killer puts the hats on each of their heads and gets rid of the last 2 hats without any of the men seeing the colors of the last 2.
After 59 minutes and 59 seconds, the guy standing in the very front yells out the color of the hat on his head, what color is it, and how is he so sure?

the only way the guy in back would be sure of his answer is if the 2 front guys had black hats on, because there is @ least 1 white hat in the 3... (wich means either #2 or #1 has a white hat)

It's a matter of the first guy talking at the last second cause he knows the 2nd and 3rd don't know, and only a certain combo or so would allow this to happen, so ironically the 1st guy knows because the 2nd and 3rd person don't

Well what I said above kind of was the hint
the fact that 2nd and 3rd don't speak means the combination is such that 2nd and 3rd smart guys can't be sure, which makes the 1st guy sure.

the 2nd guy know that theyre not both black

so if the front guy was black, that means he would have been white
but thats not the case since he doesnt speak

so the front guy is wearing a WHITE hat
