    Tech Dumb question?

I need to pick up a small laptop for travel. Essentially, I want to be able to update my blog and upload photos to an external drive. The photos will have to go thru 3rd party software to be resized and watermarked using FastStone.

Am I correct that the Chrome OS won't let me install FastStone and I should probably go with the Windows 10 option?

    Thanks in advance

"FastStone Capture is not available for Google Chrome but there are plenty of alternatives with similar functionality. The best Google Chrome alternative is ShareX, which is both free and Open Source."
    Or use Win10

      Thank you.

Essentially, if you need 3rd party software does Chrome offer an alternative to Win10?

My own opinion, Chrome is a useless OS when it comes to development, especially considering you can go to Target, Macy's or Walmart and grab a Windows based 'basic' laptop for roughly the same price as a Chromebook that will do what you need it to.

HP has a basic starter setup for under $250 right now at Walmart, its not pretty but, you should in theory be able to do what you need without worrying about Chrome compatibility.

As I say, just my opinion but if its just for travel, I don't see why you would want to spend extra time and effort worrying about an OS.

I have been visiting pawn shops today and the only laptops I have found available were HP. Personally, I hate HP but this new one is only $20 more than I was going to pay for used, so thank you very much. And you are right, I don't want to spend any time worrying about or having to learn anything new.
