Hosting question

Hi all,

On the moment i have a shared hosting at Fastcomet (fastcloud extra) and running more then 20 sites on it with cron jobs.

Today Fastcomet took everything down because the cron jobs took too much recources from the shared server, and they advised me to take a VPS. The pricing of the VPS packages are not very cheap and with the revenue i have it's not affordable.

Now i am looking at a VPS at Namecheap but i don't understand how it's working. Got a chat with them but that didn't clarify anything.

Is there someone who has a VPS at Namecheap what it will cost? I want a VPS totally setup with controlpanel etc where i can run the websites on all my 20+ domains.

Hi there, not sure how much traffic your sites have, but you may always try
Interserver and their VPSs

I think you should be able tu run your network with their VPS for around 30-35 usd per month. Check out their "slices", you may start from 1 slice and upgrade slowly. I think their cheapest semi managed linux vps is for around 15 usd/ month. For around 30 usd/ month you get a decent machine with 8 GB and 4 cores..with cpanel or directadmin as you like.

Upsides:
- reliable
- not expensive
-fast
- overall without issues, especially if you can do some easy unix tasks by shell
- over 99.5 % uptime?

Downside:
- fast/very fast but kind of clueless South Asian support. Sometimes you need to repeat to make them understand the problem. The owner/ CEO / managing boss is an American though

I would never host my sites at Namecheap or any other domain provider, never put all eggs into one basket...

Why Namecheap? Namecheap is for domains and I'm not even sure if they allow adult. Better go with some real hosting.

It seems you need a fully managed VPS. Most people on here use Mojohost and Vacares, so you can contact them and see what they can offer. Interserver.net and Ethernetservers have decent VPS plans too.

Well, if you are running 20 sites with cron jobs, then you need a more powerful hosting. I have been using TMDHosting for years and they are fine with adult and they are affordable so they might be a good fit for you. Other adult web hosting companies I use are here.

Just take a custom dedicated server at Nocix, cancel the hosting package at Fastcomet, and point all my sites to there trough DNS.

I alrdy had one 2 years ago, it was a lot of work to setup but it worked perfect and fast.

Hello bro, sorry to disappoint you, but namecheap does not accept adult content, as soon as they discover this, block your site and without notice, be careful.

Before buying a hosting service talk to support and ask if they accept adult content, because this avoid having problems in the future, there are many reliable VPS hosting that accept porn sites, one of them is M3 server, they are great.

I can definitely understand your frustration. Nobody wants to deal with moving their websites and definitely not have their websites shut down by their web host.

Based on what you listed in your very first post, I am inclined to believe a good VPS would be fine for your needs. If you go with managed (like we do at Vacares,) you never need to worry about setting up the server, patching security updates, creating backups, etc. Management handles that for you.

I'll be around most of today and am more than happy to go over your options with Vacares, or if you choose to go the unmanaged route, I can point you towards a few very price friendly options.

So i am now configuring a dedicated VPS that i ordered for a reasonable price, going to point my sites to there, and will look how that is performing.

It will take some time that everything is running because it is a lot of work.

Before bying i contacted them and asked how about adult content. This was 2 years ago. They answered that adult content is OK, everything is OK, that is legal in Germany.

As we see, terms are updated at 04/2020. I ordered and using VPS of them 11/2018.
Running 18 adult websites.

Had some troubles - from my side - have conversation with support. I am sure they saw the content of my sites. This was 3 months ago.

There is nothing legal in Germany except softcore. And Hardcore must be behind age verification systems.

Namecheap does not allow adult content, I can tell you first-hand I am running a dozen sites hosted through bihira.com on their gold plan for $12.50 a month and it is fast and haven't had any trouble whatsoever, and I know for a fact they have zero trouble with adult content as long as it's not CP
