    Open Source Camsite software?

What's the gold standard in camsite software today? Anything Open Source?
    Cyberwurx Hosting
After trying 5 different hosts, I found the best.
Since 1997 I've had 2 hours of downtime.
Fast support, great techs, no hype, no gimmicks.

<- I in no way endorse whatever just got stuck on the left of my post.

I doubt it. Either code it yourself or be prepared to fork out a decent amount.
    But.... I pulled out...

You could write something with FFmpeg.

Then he'll only need the live text chat, model broadcasting setup, token management for private shows and tips, user management, accounting, and everything else

I know one that used https://moodle.org/ and +1000 hours to get a "free" CMS. Ended up with a shit system that could be replaced with a $900 solution that was secure, looked good worked from day one.

Lesson: If its free - its pretty often because its not worth charging for = wortheless

Not sure this applies to programs like notepad++, ccleaner, filezilla and a billion other free programs.

Odd really that there are not more off the shelf cam solutions. Used to be able to easily buy scripts for top sites, TGPs, etc. when those were big.

There used to be a million tgps how many cam sites are there today 1000? 2000? There is not enough demand for someone to build a script they can sell for $200

Exactly. The main barrier is that the financial entry point for a user to run a cam site is substantially higher - specifically the "content", they need live models to be there 24/7 and not just videos they download from a sponsor or embed from another tube.

It depend on complexity of program and demand for it. In this particular case, making cam script is task which require a lot of time yet you cant use it for hundred sites like you can for example with blog script.
And if you are so worried about it, there is nothing to prevent you to learn coding and spend time on it.

Did I write "always" or did I write "pretty often"?

Hard to imagine anyone would open source a camsite script...

The demand for "simple" camsites by new webmasters is mostly satisfied by white labels so I don't think there is really a lot of demand.
