Free Wordpress Host Needed

I’m looking for a free host for a blog. I’ll use my own domain and an ad from the host on my blog is okay.

I know I’ve seen them advertised but want recommendations in case of hidden traps

It’s a mainstream blog and I need htaccess access to add a password file.

An af that doesn’t deter you from the blog and doesn’t overwhelm the pages is fine.

I checked about eight free host blog sites last night. Either no htaccess options or no ftp option for installing plugins were offered.

I need free or just a few bucks a month payable monthly. With my health I’m not sure I’ll be here in a year to pay in advance.

I’d prefer a choice of my own domain rather than a long sub domain I’ll never remember. Amnesia gets in the way...

Low traffic guaranteed. I’ll do my best to block search engines.

You don't need FTP for plugins so don't worry about that...

You could sign up for Google Cloud - You get a $300 credit - You can start up a 1000 blogs!....

A bit techy though - You might need some help setting it up...

FTP for other things but not plugins. Uploading a logo or special header, the .htaccess file, images, too. Easier for me to upload than use Wordpress.

I’m still looking! Some have restrictions though they sound good. One offered free blog hosting if you registered a domain through them. $24.95/year for a dot com. Fine print says 100 mg transfer per month.

You can literally buy hosting for less than $5 a month. Why go through all this hassle to save a few dollars?

I've used so many free hosts in the past, fuck them and just get cheap hosting.

Not sure what cheap hosts you're talking about but I can pull up no less than 10 in maybe 30 seconds that all do month to month and can be up and running for $0, pay after...not before even.

Thanks. I’ll bookmark the site. Right now I have an offer of free hosting on someone’s server. I’m working on the domain and other things.

You have ftp access and many monthly plans don’t offer that. I’d never looked into free hosts and am surprised at some restrictions.
