Looking for a simple stats script

I'm looking for a simple script that can locally on any website, and that can be called from the same website instead of a 3rd party.

Ideally, it would be composed of a couple of files that sit in that website's home or subdirectory, be lightweight and reliable.

It would depend on what info you needed - Whatever way you do it you need to insert some code in your pages and you may as well use Google analytics...
