    Tech Video Format USB...

    I am putting some vids on a stick for a friend - She wants to watch them from her DVD players USB port - Is MP4 ok for those? - I have never used one...

    if she´s watching it from a dvd player, the video needs to be in a dvd format which is mpeg2.

    However, you´re saying she´s playing it from her usb port in the dvd player, i take it you mean direct to her tv, which logically should be ok...

    suck it and see, try it out and if it doesn´t work, convert it to mpeg2 on an editor

      Have them send you the exact make and model number. Example (Made up) Say its a Sony XYZ123-B - Then look at it online.

      It should say, "Plays .MP4 .MPG2 .MKV files via USB port' etc.

        Typically the DVD player has to be DivX ready.

        At least in past years.. I would download and play .avi files through a USB port on my DivX DVD player.

        Perhaps newer players offer more compatibility. But I bought one last year with a USB port and it wouldn't play most video compressions.
