yeah when I first thought about shooting dlsr i went to the 'showbiz gear store' the lenses were about 17-25k if I remember correctly, this was about 12 years ago. pretty sure they were handmade.

I had a Fuji w/a zoom that was 35k and an Angineux 25 to something or other that was 17K. That didn't include filters, matt boxes etc. So that sounds about right, but I doubt they were hand made.

Too true. You can shoot perfectly good blow jobs with a kit lens and make money. There is no room in business for vanity purchases. However, there is a reason people use expensive lenses. In my case, the more expensive the gear, the more money I would make. So it made sense.

That is true. I was just having a drink with a guy that shot an adult feature that had a cinematic release in the UK and that is exactly what he described to me. All vr 3d porn is still shot with two cameras.

I did 18 years in mainstream set lighting. worked films, tv shows and theater. did live news for 5 years etc...
