of course if you want to do it fast and at no expense you would just use a sock. (one with odd port cuz 1080 is scanned for by most irc networks). Regular proxys will do as well you will notice mirc supports both. Lil2rich's solution is more permanent though, just set up a crontabbed psybnc and be anon always (ps it's not that hard to set up a psybnc if you need a step by step walkthrough I can dig up a good link, too tired now).

For sure you can use that proxy scanner, I wrote one myself when mirc started supporting raw socket handling. The problem again is that a lot of channels and irc networks scan all these common ports, 3128, 80, 8080, 1080 and a few more so that's why you should go for uncommon ports.
As you can tell my suggestion with using a proxy is rather icky and never permanent unless you get someone to actually set up a sock for you so for the long haul, get a shell that allows eggdrops and set up a psybnc.
Always a pleasure to meet a fellow mirc scripter lil2rich

I want something very stable. The whole BNC/Shell thing still confuses me.. hehe basically instead of having my shit like [email protected] I want something like [email protected] or something like that. (which means nobody will know my real ip)
