Need help with wordpress

I am working on a new site that I built in WP and I am having some issues customizing my front page. This is my first attempt at building a site and I am sure its an easy fix but I cant figure it out for the life of me. I am certainly willing to pay someone who can show me how to make the changes I want done.

Basically what I want is for the posts that show on the front page, I only want 3-5 posts to show then for the option to go to the next page with older posts instead of all of them showing on the main page. I also don’t want the whole post to show, I want only part of it to show and for the reader to click on the post to read the full post/article. If that makes sense. Anyway if someone can help please contact me as I might have other small work available on some other projects I have in the works.

for all his brilliance, Sarettah isn't very fond of wp and rec'd Black Monsters to me a while back for something on one of my sites that was a wp issue

I didn't end up needing his help then but hit him up recently for some work on my biz partner's site that we run together

he did a wicked job and finished a day early and under budget with phenomenal communication throughout. she and I are both hella happy with the experience and the outcome of working with him

he even fixed a couple of her plugins that got wonky after his work was complete (not unusual, these are pretty uncommon plugins that don't always play well with others but are necessary) and even though I offered to pay more for his time fixing them he said the original bill amount was fine

You can add a tag to your post which will show a (click here to read more) on the post when its on the front page.

As for the 3 to 5 posts per page, that is really based on the template that you choose, but each should have a customization spot that will allow you to say how many posts you want per page.

Go to your WordPress control panel and click Settings->Reading. Spot the "Blog pages show at most" box, change it to 3 or 5 and save the settings. Also check out this plugin: https://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-pagenavi/ - you'll like it ;)
