    protools

    thinking of getting it - any experience with it or similar programs? could i run it on a decent laptop - 2ghz 20gig, 256MB ram etc using a basic soundcard?

    I use Logic Audio.... probably the closest to pro tools without the same price

      Logic is OK..

      Go protools if you have a 50k budget for the additional hardware.

        Oh.. and you need a couple of macs..

        And not to mention a couple of racks with gear.. and..

        hmm..

          logic's sounding like a good idea, it's a good hobby but I can't justify spending 50k on it.. I read about someone using it on a laptop a while ago - must have been the free version.. screw that.
          just wanted a little more control than my digital 8 track offered and my laptop is feeling a little unused and it's out on PC.. ah well so is logic audio decent? what about in a user perspective? easy to use? hows the GUI?
