    Testing Affiliate Links

For those of us who spend all day driving traffic to programs (as Affiliates), how many of you test your links, for Hits, Signups, Purchases?

I do and have done for years.

    Chaturbate is absolutely honest.
    Jasmin is absolutely honest.

BongaCash says even though we used the link in my Promo Tools, some Cookie might have prevented getting the credit for the Join!!!!

I did two tests with Cam sites using Epoch for billing.

The one FAILED miserably. They use Epoch for the $2 temp authorization. Worked last month when I used it to create the Affiliate account in the first place. FAILED trying to create consumer/user account, just for the temp authorization... not even at the point of the €9.95 minimum purchase for tokens.

Second Cam site with EPOCH succeeded with the €25 purchase of tokens, but 2 mins later, they cancelled it. Except that it's still on the credit card statement.

And, it's no wonder Affiliates here are crying because there's no Hits, Joins, Sales!!

And in both cases with EPOCH, they're going to get back to me via EMAIL... 24-48 hours!!!

Do you mean EPOCH's own "EPOCHSTATS", or EPOCH used in a custom coded affiliate platform?

If it's a custom coded platform, Epoch can't really do anything about it. They probably don't even have access to the affiliate platform.

This is why I'm wary of programs that use their own platforms. There's noone to stop them from shaving. Even if they don't intend to, it's easy to make mistakes in the tracking code.
I generally prefer programs built upon an independent platform, NATS, CCBILL, etc. But I must admit if you promote cams, you don't have this option.

It's a good thing that you're doing test purchases -- if many people did this, bugs related to affiliate tracking would get fixed, and bad programs would stop getting traffic.

Just out of curiosity, do you actually have to spend your money to test your linkcodes?

We hope all billers offer sandbox system environment so that we can test them out when we noticed suspicious tracking actions.

Unlike Chaturbate, many Cam sites don't list "Hits".

If EPOCH ever writes back about its failure with three Cam sites yesterday, I'll bring up the Sandbox procedure. (Which I have not seen.)

I do such tests frequently too and I ditched some sponsors. TeenCat created a whole thread in which he posted about testing affiliate signups and his thread got deleted...
