I'm sure that will be an option in the final 2.0 release.

not sure about most surfers, but I'd rather join a site that doesn't pop a bunch of crap I've probably seen already.

I think it will be good for those with more targetted traffic. Depends on your business model I suppose.

I really hate popups, and dig this new google bar. No doubt many, many surfers will learn to appreciate it.

If anything it will hit sponsors who like the run-off from their affilliate traffic. Oh well.

In fact, just think about how many more people will be able to surf porn much easier while they are at work, if they can block popups. Duh.

A lot of sponsors use pop ups to redirect traffic to something you don't get credit for or traffic trades, so it can only be good (for us) to have them blocked...

What a very, very stupid and short sighted remark.

Still, threads like this always seem to be funny. Also never fails to amaze me how many people can't understand the difference between a single popup and a never ending chain or realise how much money that single popup can actually make.

How many here will not only be moaning that conversions are shit in 12 months (as most do now) but also that income and payouts have dropped?
                                              Ignorance is never bliss.

I was mainly referring to recurring (50/50, 60/40) sponsors. I don't use pay per signup sponsors.

Without Pop Ups payouts would never have broken $25 per signup.
I've trusted my sites to them for over a decade...

Popups are generating quite a bit of revenue for adult and non adult sites alike. But we're not going to stop people from blocking them if they want to, so the answer is going to be in finding how to deliver the same advertising punch without using something a high percentage of people will be able to kill now.

The only thing I've seen is a floating DHTML window like I stuck on an old site of mine. You can get the software to code them here:

Im sure it helps google find sites that they otherwise would know nothing about.

Plus when you install it you have the option of letting google know where you visit or not. (Google does this to help pagerank or something like that)
