    Wireless Network Question

I have a 11 Mbps wireless setup at home, with a cable modem router. My download speeds usually peak around 0.60 MB/s from another local system.

I'd like to move files a bit faster than that if possible. Does it go through my ISP first or some other reason why it can't transfer any faster than that ?

I have a LAN here and the host PC connects at 2m yet the others connect at about 20 percent of that through the rooter.. Im not sure how the teckie sorted it out, but Im sure it was something in the general settings of the LAN and the ICS and not the ISPs fault... She will be arriving in a few hours and is not answered already Ill ask her to look over this thread..

When you say move files, do you mean to other computers in your house or to your servers? If it's in house you can just configure the router for file sharing and you will get the max speeds. Probably about 3mbsor so.

If you mean to a server you are limited by your connection which normally won't break 2mbs down and 300kbs max up on cable. On DSL you are gonna be around 600kbs up and down. It sounds as if everything is normal though.
I've trusted my sites to them for over a decade...

802.11b does more like 5Mbit/sec actual throughput, so 600kbytes/sec sounds like you're pushing the maximum possible.
