yawn... the 2002 devile I drove had auto sensing wipers. tesla has now reached apple statues, blowing out old tech as new innovations..

I remember being driven to do a radio interview back in the early 2000s by this guy who had just bought a top of the range new car. Its really nice (But not being a 'car guy' I don't recall the make) and he's talking me through all the features it has.
Then we get to the wipers. He says 'Don't even need to turn them on! When it rains, they come on themselves' This actually impressed me, cause it was first time I had heard of that, so I said 'Wow! Do they work?'
He replies in a somewhat dissapointed tone of voice - 'Dunno. Its california so it never rains anyway...' Thats stuck with me for sme reason lol
Another time though I dd drive an old volvo from Desert Hot Springs (Near Palm Springs) to downtown LA in torrential rain with no wipers... They were broke and we just had a can of water repellent spray that we kept stopping and reapplying... Crazy days, but good times
