So if I had $500 and wanted a freesite built, what could I get ?

And more importantly who does this kind of work (well) ?

But in the interest of answering your question... what's your 2017 definition of "freesite"? What do you need?

2 gallery site with warning/entrance page.
Converted way better than a gallery by itself, but usually had less traffic from listing sites.

Worked until tubes came out.

Curious if there are still sites listing old school freesites (and webmasters cooking them).

OK Guys...

OK guys here goes... You are right it's 2017... and I know things have changed

So much so we moved our business from being paysites, to doing a lot of clip sites...

However we've never been great at the traffic game, either with getting affiliates or traffic, so what I want to do is create our own Traffic Hub I guess... so we can push our own traffic, both purchased and through ads to our various paysites, some select sponsors and clip profiles...

I am not expecting to gain loads of traffic exchanges, but it would be good to have something in place... likewise it would be good to have some options that could also potentially earn us some money (which we would re invest in more traffic)

This would be in the form of maybe a banner rotation, and some paid spots on the site, such as premium TGP for example... I always remember a site that had something like this, it had TGP listings, where the top 10 were paid spots, the next 10 were spots the guy put up himself, and the rest (around 20) were free ones that any one could upload...

I am looking for the design to be good... thinking something that gives it a bit of a magazine look, but I am open to discussion on that...

I am also looking for who ever does the work to think of ways we can improve the stickability of the site... what else can we add, for example a white label tube ? Something VR as that seems all the rage ?

If the first site goes well then we will roll out other sites... so could mean regular work for the right guy...

Building a tube is prolly the only reasonable free site option these days. But you need $50k not $500 to do that

I think you can get a basic mechbunny or kvs license for under $500. Tube ace could work too if you just want to embed.

you're definitely not gonna be able to get anything profitable built from scratch for under $500...that's only 10 hours of programming time.

Thanks for the input guys... but I do feel like a lot of people are missing the point of what I am trying to do...

I have a bunch of websites (paysites) we run... I also have a bunch of clip profiles on various websites we run... and I would also pick a few select sponsors to promote as well...

What I want to do is create a website that I can push traffic through, both purchased and through ad spots (such as Juicy Ads) and improve traffic to all the above and hopefully increase sales...

I would hope to have some spots on the site that I could sell, but this would purely be to reinvest in more traffic... These spots would be like Banner Rotation and Paid TGP spots for example...

I'm not over fussed about trading traffic, but I guess if there is some room for this and it adds to the total traffic then it's a plus... So no I am not trying to build some big Tube site... even though I do not believe every tube that exists out there as had $50k ploughed into it's development and traffic, if that is the case then god help us...

But again I do appreciate the input... maybe I need to get more of a budget before I embark on this project...

I am actually embarking on a similar journey, one I expect will take years to get anywhere. So first things first:

Figure out EXACTLY what kind of sites you want built. How many TGPs? How many tubes? How many review sites?

Then hire a full-time designer at a reasonable rate and build, build and build. Get a good SEO guy if you can but they are hard to find.

Try to build it yourself first. If you really can't, look around for a webmaster to do it for you, but : If you don't know them, don't pay for the service in full until its 100% complete and you have all of the files.
