They've been talking about building a high speed train here in California for years now. I cannot imagine why anyone would be against it. California is a very long state; It takes eight hours to get from Sacramento to LA - and that's not even the entire length of the state. I would love to have a high speed train that can go all the way down to San Diego.

Except the high speed train that CA has been talking about building will not be hi speed, way to many stops and also is going to be routed over the Tehachapi mountains. Basically a waste of time and money. A friend that rides Amtrak frequently from Hanford to Sac says that he is often the only one in a car and that there is seldom more than a half dozen.
