GWAR for InterNext?

For anyone who would be interested in a GWAR show during InterNext, let me know. I have a booking contact with them and they are available to play (they're launching a tour for their new album around mid-January).

For those who don't know, they are one of the wildest live acts you'll ever see. They slaughter mutant puppets on stage and have simulated sex with animal puppets, devil puppets and puppets based upon pop figures..I wouldn't be surprised to see some Britney bashing on their new tour

I once saw GWAR in Vegas at the old Fremont Street Raggae And Blues Club (RIP) and couldn't get a cab to stop for me aftwards...I was covred from head to toe with fake blood, fake pus, fake piss, green goo shit and all kinds of technocolor delights...took me 2 days to get all the coloring out of my hair...hehehe

I wonder if they will kill OJ Simpson on this tour again...heheheh, they usually have a guy come out dressed as OJ during the song "Meat Sandwich" and "kill" him via decapitation, it's good for about 3 gallons of fake blood

If I see a GWAR show there will only be 9 bands on my list of MUST SEE shows. I would love to see them Live. I have seen some documentary type shit on some of there real old shows and it blew my mind. The music is OK at best but the stage show will turn anyone into a fan.

A couple of years ago, we drove from Whistler to Seattle for a Gwar concert and let me tell ya it was the best! They are totally CRAZY! At first we couldn't get in because it was sold out, so we went around the corner and knocked on their van, the singer came out and we told him how it was shitty that we couldn't get in and that we drove all the way from Canada to see the show, he was so impress that we drove that far that he put us on the guest list!! hehe (first we had to show him canadian I.D. cause he wasn't sure if he was being scamed!) At around 1:00 am we had to cross the canadian borders, and that was tricky cause we were covered in blood and stuff so we stayed there for a couple hours until we convinced the dude that it was fake blood and all! Gwar was the most entertaining concert I have ever seen!

Lensman, I've booked The Huntridge before and know a few of the smaller clubs, not sure if a hotel would allow a booking. I've been getting a lot of good response, so will start looking for a venue. There's also a great little place that's used for Raves, has plenty of space for them to play and get webmasters in. The Huntridge seats about 800 and this place can get about the same amount in...

I figured this will be a fun diversion from the Pimp and Ho stuff without stepping on D-Money's toes. Hmm, maybe we can sell sponsorships on the rain slickers we'll no doubt have to hand out...I can just see people going back to their hotels explaining why they're covered from head to toe in fake blood...LOL

I heard it was hard to find a place for them to play because of the mess they cause with the fake blood and everything, some bars don't like it and they won't book them...In toronto (a long time ago) they had to cover the whole place with plastic for the show...

If you guys book them you should ask them to play as X-Cops also, they sometimes open for themselves as X-Cops and it rules....people often don't even know it's them on stage cause they don't have their costume on! It's funny!

I spoke with their booking agent today and they are available for the dates during InterNext. I'm also scouting venues this morning, but they are a tough band to book ;) We'll most likely have to pay a few damage deposits (of course we had to do the same thing with a Love/Hate show a couple years ago ;))).

Julia, yeah, most places they play have plastic covering everything (to me though, it's not much different than a Galllagher show, except instead of the first couple rows getting messy, it' the front half of the venue ;)))

I'm also contacting management from Slipknot, MudVayne and The Meatmen (an old punk rock band that is reforming to play a few dates (they also put on one hell of a show..they're version of "Green Acres" is a classic as are their instant punk classics like "Fast Food Fistfuck" ,"I Want Drugs", "Morrisey Must Die" and "ABBA, God and Me"))

If there are any other bands in that same vein, list your faves and I'll see what I can do )
