heh what do you mean, guys like me?
I need an unmanaged server, couse I can handle it myself.
I don't need a lot of hard disk space and 512 RAM is enough.
So that's way I am searching for something cheaper. Why I have to pay for something that I don't need, just to prove how great I am and how much money I make.
You don't know me, what do I do and so on, so you can't tell "GUYS LIKE ME"!
The way you talk only can show what kind of person you are and how much respect do you have for people.
And I know what happened to Like Whoa very well, I had another server hosted with them before!
Well that was quick.. Anyway, we can offer you a P4 2.4GHz, 800MHz Bus, with an 80gig drive, 512MB DDR PC3200 memory and 3000 Gigs of Transfer at $389 a month, no setup fee. We also have AMD XP servers available for even a lower price.
We also have a 10mbit special: P4 2.4GHz, dual (2) 120gb drive, 1GB DDR PC2700, 3000 Gigs a month at $395/mo.

I'll give you $100 if XFR cannot beat your best deal from a major provider on a 10 mbps connection or above. (not including cogent providers like vibe and resellers who are not actual hosting companies)
What relevance does it have if RackShack is a reseller or not. I use them for my dedicated server needs and have had great experience with them.
They are not real hosting companies.
Resellers have very little invested in their businesses, just servers. Therefore they are not as nearly as stable as a real Tier One hosting. Resellers typically don't staff data centers, nor are they signing bandwidth contracts with the backbones. If they don't pay their bill with the real hosting company, you're fucked. Their abuse and tech support "departments" are one-removed from the real hosting company, etc. If a reseller is cheap, go for it. But you get what you pay for.
BTW, RackShack sells Cogent, did you miss that in my last post?

Acutally last I saw was Rackshack only uses cogent for their unmetered servers now.
I have one server there and haven't had any probs for over a year.
I'm currently looking for another dedicated because I have one somewhere else and I'm capped at 10mbps which I didn't know before I ordered it!
If anyone has any info on what I should go to next for a server to keep the sites faster and leave room for growth, adding new servers, round robin dns or whatever let me know.
I'm looking for something around $6-$700 a month with either alot of included bandwidth or a very low overage price per gig. I dont' want capped at 10mbps, that would defeat the purpose of the move
Ideally I would like to take all my sites off my other 2 servers and move them to one new one but the price and plan has to be a good one.
So post your deals and specs and I'll go through them with a fine tooth comb.
Anyone that has advice on what kind of plan I should go to next, (I'm not sure what difference there is between 10mbps and 100mbps exactly as in notice performance)
