I remember reading books and working out the environment with my own imagination. I recall the intimacy of the moment, the very personal understanding exploring the plot and characters.

Now, all we mostly get is a chance to be present in a common visual experience observing the naked story line and it's obvious outcome.

No 3D or VR can make a difference.

Then I got into computers and I started reading magazines, about computers mainly.
Now I just read from my computer, Google mainly
