Can't install programs - can anyone help?

Argh... I am pulling my hair out here.

I am trying to install a couple of programs and both of them do the exact same thing. They are using Install Sheild Wizard to install. They unpack the files, check for disk space, etc, and then it comes up and says:

    "Install Sheild Wizard Completed
The wizard was interuppeted before [programname] could be completely installed. Your system has not been modified. To complete installation at another time, please run setup again."

I try again and again and again - after rebooting, with no programs in the background. Nothing works.

Can anyone help at all? Please?

    Thanks!

Thanks for the reply R3K... I have no screensave running, no antivirus software running. Yes, I am connected to the internet, and have probably about 2Gb of drive space. I dont think any of these things would be causing the problem.

      Anyone else have any ideas?

Are they compatible with your machine? Some Win '95 programs won't run on WinME, etc. Some programs require a Pentium III, more RAM, etc.

If you're running Windows XP® , you will have to behead a live chicken before you'll be able to install non-Microsoft products.
