I have had problems with chrome crashing/freezing.
A tip I read was to remove it and install it again.
That seems to have solved it so far.

you should have tried rebooting, my experience says 90% problems gets solved after rebooting in case of windows. -
Clear out everything. Temp files, cache, everything and reinstall it.Comment

Haven't had any problems. A video card died a few months back, but my computer has two video cards so I just carried on.Herschel Savage
