simple htaccess question

i want www.domain.com/test
translated to www.domain.com/?bla=test

i want www.domain.com/yeah
translated to www.domain.com/?bla=yeah

i want www.domain.com/whatever
translated to www.domain.com/?bla=whatever

etc.. except for index.php ...

Any ideas?

I think you need an index.cgi file... something like this... http://www.calpoint.com/content/html...t_listing.html

I saw one that used variables and did exactly what your asking for, but I can't find it right now... if you know any scripting you should be able to modify it yourself...

yeah.. i think this will do..

since all pages on the domain are generated from the index.php
i was planning on giving individual users a profile
like www.domain.com/johnny..

But ill just make it www.domain.com/profiles/johnny
using the rewrite trick described in your file..
