    First Democrat Debate Thread?

    Dull without Donald huh?

When asked about the political enemies they've made that they're proudest of making:

I didn't watch it. I did catch a few minutes where I believe they were giving their opening comments. The only thing that stuck out was Hillary saying she had released multiple "specific plans" - which she said multiple times - which was obviously a pre planned talking point designed to be a sound bite.

There is just no excitement over at the Democratic party.

I guess it will be Hillary.

I saw about 10 minutes of it while making dinner. I tuned in right when they were talking about gun control and they were attacking each other over who would do better on controlling guns. I have a feeling this is the democrats setting themselves up so they have something very different from the republicans in the general election. Still, Hillary was shrill, Bernie came off like that crazy uncle who has a basement full of old magazines and the other guys looked like they were lost.

that's how they summed it up in the news over here too

Also it seems that everyone hopes that Biden joins in to avoid the others

But Bernie won almost every after debate poll. Thats the story the media wants to push, the fake scripted Hillary.

Sanders only won the debate polls because the teenagers online already decided before the debate that they liked him the most. Primarily because his policy boils down to "Corporations are bad. Elect me and you'll all get free stuff."

Also free college is apparently a human right, according to Sanders.

While I'm sure some people did just that, the republican debates have at least had some kind of intrigue and entertainment value to them going into them. for the first one everyone wanted to know what Trump would say. On the second one people wanted to see how the other candidates would react to and attack Trump.

With the democrats there was no real mystery. It's Hillary, Sanders and guys most people have never heard of and who have no chance in hell.

But then again, they don't have to watch their own debate because they're already programmed to know what they're supposed to think.

The impression I got of Hillary is that she was friendly and nice - which is exactly what they want to project. The big complaint about her is that she is "cold" and not nice.

I watched the Republican debate because I knew Trump would make it interesting. There is just zero excitement on the Democratic side.

That's because in their world their support for the democrats is predetermined and unconditional. All they see, think and feel is democrats = good, republicans = bad. The democrats could run a doll with a string to pull to make it say any number of democrat talking points and the sheep would vote for it as long as there is a republican to hate.

If we are being fair, things are not exactly equal for both parties this election cycle. If you are democrat and already know you are not going to vote for a republican, you basically have two choices (technically there are more, but those others have no chance of winning). So what is there to learn or understand from a democrat point of view. At this point everyone knows who Hillary Clinton is so there isn't much to learn about her. If you don't like her, you might look into Sanders.

On the republican side there are many lesser known people and the race is more competitive so if you are a republican you have more homework to do and more choices. Lets also not pretend that Obama and Clinton didn't get mauled during the republican debates and whoever ends up winning the republican primary is going to blame everything including the headache you might have had three months ago on Obama.

You could reverse the parties in this post and say the same thing. The US is polarized right now. I tend to vote for who I want regardless of party. I skipped this debate as Hilary is a known quantity in my mind. I had assumed Jeb Bush would be my other option and did not know as much about him or even seen him.

The Republicans need to dump Trump and narrow the field to a couple of real prospects.

Also free college is apparently a human right, according to Sanders.
oh i see. he only won because he had already convinced voters beforehand.

as i said on the other board. Bernie was beating Clinton at 60%, they deleted that poll.

just so happens CNN donates to clinton. funny that.

On this point you are correct. But I see more hate, vitriol and invective come from democrats and their supporters than from the republicans. Even Hillary Clinton called republicans her enemy in the debates the other night. This woman wants to be president but calls half the population her enemy. And if she were to become president how well do you think she can work with her "enemy"?

Bernie or Hillary, the dems will crush the republican nominee and win the presidency by a landslide in 2016.

And you honestly see no problems with either one of them do you?

And so the race to the bottom will continue apace.

                                                          I didn't get to see it, I don't have a cable provider so I couldn't stream it.

WTF are they airing these debates only on cable channels anyway? There are lots of cord cutters these days as well as places with out cable access..

Presidential debates should be aired only on over the air channels.
In November, you can vote for America's next president or its first dictator.
