    New Microsoft Surface 4

I've been a fan of the Microsoft Surface for some time now. I have a Surface Pro 3 and love it - It's a great laptop for traveling, and works great as a tablet here at home for light surfing, etc. It has a full operating system which is great so I can do anything with it.

Microsoft just came out with the Surface Pro 4 and it looks kick ass.

Something is wrong... where is the Apple logo?

All the good laptops and tablets have the Apple logo.

wait.. you aren't going to tell us you had Surface Pro 1, 2, and 3?? You are slipping.

But I did check one out last week. My uncle who is a architect in AZ was in town and has a Surface Pro 3 fully loaded with the 256gig hard drive.. He swears by it as his traveling laptop/tablet. He says it's great for job sites and the best part is it's still considered a tablet. So he doesn't have to take it out when he's getting probed by TSA.

The video you posted is the new Surface book, the Surface Pro 4 still looks very much like the Surface Pro 3.

I bought the Surface Pro 3, liked it a lot but returned it after about one month due to:

Heat problems, the processor generates a lot of heat. Especially when playing movies, particularly flash content.

Loudness, the heat causes the fan to wind up and it does sound like a small vacuum machine. Not very pleasant when in your lap.

Sharp edges, right where you hold your hands and fingers, the edges where the glass meets the frame can be sharp.

So I have patiently been awaiting the Surface Pro 4 and really, really hope the new processors will be a better fit and that the edges are smooth. I am clearly buying one of those!

Was wondering if anyone was going to post about the new Microsoft products, I have been waiting for the phone for months.. and I almost ordered an Alienware laptop last weekend. I'm curious to see how the new Alienware will stack up against the " worlds most powerful Pc" the Surface book. My goal is to replace my computer with a laptop that can edit 4K and run dual 4K monitors etc.

I had the Surface Pro 2 prior to purchasing the Surface Pro 3. The 2 was a bit too small to work as a laptop really, but "good enough" for a short trip - if only barely.

what do you mean good enough for a short trip? Couldn't you find a outlet, they are everywhere at the airport nowadays, there's even business centers now.

I still don't need these laptops that are 2 in 1. As long as you know all the shortcut keys and aren't a graphic designer, why need a touch screen or clipboard style pad, unless you're a noob..

The Surface Pro 2 was just a bit too small to work as a real laptop.

The like the two and one concept. On a trip to Europe I discovered I had taken both my huge laptop (my huge 18 inch Alienware) PLUS a tablet for on the plane and any downtime I had in the hotel. With the Surface I don't need two devices; It's small enough to carry on the plane and act as a tablet but also as a full lap top for work.
