    Tech cloudflare?

Anyone here using cloudflare? if so what do you think, advantages, disadvantages etc.

I set it up our stock content site but it appears to run slower now, it looks like its loading all the thumbnails before the page even shows up rather than seeing the thumbnails load in. I would have thought it would be ideal for our type of site but I am wondering. take a look and let me know how its loading for you. thanks Adult Content Provider | Home - Scarlett Content Adult Stock Photo and Video Provider

not familiar with cloudflare but something isn't right
first time load showed a blank page with "comments" link on left side and back to top link, everything else was blank but had a vertical scroll bar. couldn't wait longer than 30sec, hit refresh - site blinked momentarily and then enter warning disclosure appeared

122 validation errors and 36 warnings don't help either.

it could be something in your front end holding up displaying everything on the page and not the cloudflare itself - of course it needs further investigation. if you're using google chrome also check the page from developer tools, one of the options there is ability to see how all page's resources load - could be a javascript for instance.

set up a small simple site see how that would load - that's to be sure whether it is or is not cloadflare issue.

whoever did you coding, shoot them for not following proper valid markup, or shoot yourself for being too cheap, whichever suits you best!

    good luck!

PS i love fixing validation errors although i may curse alot during such times.

I use AWS EC2, Cloudfront and CloudFlare together.

      No complaints. It just works.

thanks for the info, im not too worried about the validator errors as site was running pretty good before I added cloudflare , it just wasnt loading quite as fast as I would have liked so thought I would try cloudflare to speed it up. I just noticed that the site runs much faster in internet explorer than it does in firefox. interesting,

CloudFlare is good and they don't bill for traffic (incredible but true), however check their many settings and your own site because proxying it changes lots of things you have to understand and fix.

I removed it because it was loading slow in firefox. it was great in explorer though,

could you explain exactly how/what cloudfront does?
I'm not familiar with CDNs and how they work...
This is something new for me. I'm currently using digitalocean as my vps.

CloudFlare has its uses, it helps people starting out. For me it depends on where I'm hosting my stuff, its sometimes nice to fit multiple sites on one host at the start then move them off as they grow.

Adblock is blocking a big part of your site, you should look into that - I wouldn't worry about cloudflare unless you have a reason for using it.

I use their common hosted JS libraries (jQuery, bootstrap, AngularJS). It works well.

No, they've been forced to change their tune a bit via Federal Court. Great service from what I hear.

it doesnt matter whether they obscure their original host , if you send valid dmca to cloudflare, cloudflare forwards the DMCA to the original host . and the game starts there.

they are great for dns but their cache everything sucks big time, it slows down wp site like shit. idk why only with wp site, but i tried using them with wp site and results were horrible., so i just use their dns serviece . and its free.

Some huge mainstream companies use Cloudflare (infact your domain registrar for Spookycash is using them) not to mention a lot of people just use their DNS service.

cloudflare helps in case of DDOS, of course you have to do some other things not just use cloudflare, but really helps and is cheap ($200/month while under ddos, $25 + $5 per domain in normal condition, no matter the traffic amount)

Cloudflare will send DMCA letters and every type of letter that's written about your website to your host. Trust me I know. These webcam models will send DMCA out hourly and I have to deal with the whiny fools.

I use a lot of tgp submit pages like thehun.net. The way cloudflare proxies make thehuns bot see a 404 causing them to remove all my galleries. Just something to keep in mind if you are using non-organic traffic with cloudflare.
