    Wordpress Plugin - Post Rotator

I use oldest2newest to rotate my posts on a blog and that works great but I can't seem to find a plugin that will just rotate a certain category. They all have too many whistles and bells, I just need a plugin that works like oldest2newest but where I can tell it just to re-post a specific category. Does anybody know of one ?

    Thanks

    Unfortunately no.

If it works well, you could edit this plugin to add this functionality though.

I see people request these but I am not sure I really understand the "why"

Cyber, do you use this program? It looks pretty neat but it hasn't been updated in 2 years?

My thought is something old, re-posted, becomes something new to people who have never seen it.

Thanks, I did see that but didn't bother as it was not updated, but seeing as that's all there is I just uploaded it and will see how it goes.

It's for a mobile version of an escort directory I have that uses Wordpress. Instead of every escort profile (ie. post) getting rotated I just want those in the "premium" category, ie. the escorts that pay to advertise to get rotated.

It works pretty fine and I don't see any reason why should it be updated. As we - coders say, don't touch it if it works

Doesn't it hurt your ranking when you've got two posts that are exactly the same but different dates?

yes, I have to agree with baddog... unless you are constantly creating new content just flipping your old stuff around doesn't really help. It's not like a pay site where you can round-robin the updates

Even wihen the bounce ratio is low, most people is lazy to scroll down or navigate the entire site or use the search. (you can note that with google analytics) Most users will only read the first 3 post. So if you use a rotator, all post have the same level of exposure and you can update less.

The need for updates is to make it compatible with new WP versions. So even when the plugin works perfect, still needing upgrades.

'This plugin hasn't been updated in over 2 years. It may no longer be maintained or supported and may have compatibility issues when used with more recent versions of WordPress'
