Keep on getting wordpress header error on some plugin

Hi I just upgraded my WP site to version 3.8.1

I tried to activate some ad plugin like adrotate and Simple Ads Manager, but get the following errors:

Warning: mkdir() [function.mkdir]: Permission denied in /home/xxxxxxxxxxx/public_html/xxxxxxxxxx.co.uk/wp-content/plugins/simple-ads-manager/admin.class.php on line 24

The plugin generated 229 characters of unexpected output during activation. If you notice ?headers already sent? messages, problems with syndication feeds or other issues, try deactivating or removing this plugin.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks

I am not a wizard, but could it be that the plugin is not updated or does not support the new wp version...

The mkdir() function was not being allowed to create so it was a folder permission issue.
