I partnered with Tom when I was like sixteen back in 1996 and
we both went off to do seperate things.

Been shit, 6 years since then.

What do you guys think of BLUEGRAVITY?

Who would host with a company named after a rap song
anyways.

They've been around for quite a while and I haven't heard many complaints, other than their posted prices.

I always think of them as a solid host.

Bluegravity is one of the best hosting companies out there. I doubt you can find one with more up time running as fast. I've been using them since 98, 100% up time and fast.

I didn't know it was a rap title as well. I thought Tom made up that name.

They might be a little more money then the average service, but you're getting a better then average hosting company. Use the cheap hosts for TGP's and put your tours on a good host.

Anyway, that's my take on Bluegravity.

Blue Gravity may be highly priced, but they're no scam. They've hosted some major players for a long time, with no complaints. I guess some people would rather pay more for great service than paying $.50/gig but having to worry about some 19 year old coke head buying cars with your money instead of paying his upstream providers.

hmm, D-Money has been with them for 5 years and he can't say enough good things about them. Don't you think he's smart enough to know if it's worth the extra cost to him or not? There are a lot more factors involved in your bottom line than the cost of your hosting, some people are in this business long term.

Yes they are higher than probably most other companies out there, however!

I have been around the server game for a while and been down the drain with a few (one guy was arrested and i was stranded, the other hosting company had major up problems)

I have had 5 different hosting companies since 1996 and nothing but problems.

I can always depend on those guys, I can call them and they help me out anytime

I never ever had any problems with them
They don't chit chat on the net what they do, who they host, gossip in general (I have seen some hosts even post uncleared checks on message boards)

I have tgp's, submit to tgp's, have lots of shopping carts and scripting, get ok traffic and have lots of happy recurring members. Since I am a smaller site on the net and not a big player its even double important to me that my sites are up. Way to much other Amateurs out there ready to take my members.

Again, I know they are high, sometimes I ask myself why I am paying so much, until I run into a problem ( I am NOT a server person trust me) and they help me out ASAP.

I am happy, and hell whoever hosts with Tom and crew knows, you others go ahead and host with whomever you want, flame us and tell us were retardet for paying more than average. But I depend on my Host, I depend on my sites they are my income, if I have to pay more and KNOW I have somebody great in my corner, its easier to pay that bill each month.

Sorry I babbled on, but OMG I have been with so many different jerks over the past years that when I finally opted for Bluegravity (they were recommended by a huge site on the net to me) I jumped on it and never looked back

Actually, I used to be a host with Websidestory back in the day, hitbox counter for those who remember. We were $4k per month for a dedicated server with up to 2 mbps of use on a 10mbps connection piped in to our OC12. And we had a $2k one time set up fee. We were THE most expensive host for sure back then. But I was selling tons of dedicated packages. Customers included Purehardcore, Adultbuffet, picpost and ton's of other huge sites. The ones I named were all ranked in the top 10 porn sites at that time. Were they stupid? Hell no.

The point is this. In the Internet, we don't have "normal business costs" if you operate strictly on the Net. I'm talking about the average guy in our biz, not content producers and people like that. So what's your main cost to operate a porn site? Content and hosting probably. Hosting is what keeps you in business. If you were a race car driver, you'd have the best parts, the best gas, the best tires, best engine etc. So why scimp on your Internet business and go with a cheap host?

It's just my opinion, and I used to be the expensive hosting company and I still prefer to host with an expensive host.

But hey, if you can find a cheaper host and you're happy with them, more power to you. But let's not rip services because they have a premium service for a premium price. How were Like Whoa's pricing?
