    Found better dropbox

Dropbox was big pioneer, but it is lagging behind, for example they give only 2GB free. I just tried copy.com and it is as smooth as dropbox, but with 15Gb free space. Pretty decent. Just heads up if anybody was looking for more space and did not hear about it.
ps: I can not imagine how to use that much, but for guys who uploads videos that may be possible.
They even give you extra 5GB if you go via reff code (https://copy.com?r=wA83yB).
Plus they do not cut space on shared files. If you share 2Gb with 4 people every of them lose 500Mb. With dropbox all of them would lose 2Gb.

Fuck, I praised it, but how the fuck I do not sync my files with desktop?
Like when I want files to be only on cloud bit not on my desktop.
They do not have user friendly system for that (like one folder "Copy" which is synced and another folder "notcopy" which would not be synced).

Cool, just heads up - only one of you got free extra 5GB. In order to get them you need to verify your email + install desktop app.

That being said, I am a bit disappointed with it since I can not find how to keep my files there without them being synced with my computer. Meaning that some files mus be only in the cloud and not on computer.

I found some solution in their blog where they say:

Q: I?m syncing a folder with a lot of large files on one computer, but I don?t want them to all be downloaded to my second computer. How do I prevent this?

A: Copy let?s you manage which files in the cloud sync down to each individual computer. You?re given the option to Choose Files to Sync? when you log in with your account from a particular computer for the first time. You can later return to this same dialog by clicking Manage My Files? in the Account tab of the Preferences window.

I spent 20 minutes looking for that preferences window with account tab and "manage files" thing, but failed to find it

I dunno man - if it's just the gbs for cheap you're after, that's a decent option I guess.

For me, stability, security, ease-of-use, development of new features, cross platform compatibility, etc - those are priorities. And Dropbox is proven in those areas (even more than Google Drive at thist point IMO). And it's not like getting more storage with them is really all that expensive in the grand scheme.

I usually find in the long term it's not worth going with a shittier product/service because it's a bit cheaper. There's usually a reason for the low price.

Absolutely, same for me. 2Gb is enough for me, only thing I did not like was that if you are on shared folder it would use quota of every person sharing. So if 4 persons are sharing you would basically have only 500Mb instead of 2Gb.

Anyway I was wondering about their business model and how would all these big competitors affect them. Its no secret that 20Gb sounds way more appealing to regular Joe who is deciding on which cloud service to join. I think dropbox may be losing many many clients because of that.

I thought I would give a review and it is not that good:

Edit - never mind, after wasting one hour and posting the thread it magically fixed itself (issue was that it was not possible to share new files).

Google chrome would not download the desktop app calling it malicious software. That's not a good start.

                                            Anybody using it?
It happened yesterday and happened today - you upload file, try to share, but when you open the link it says "file not found".
Yesterday I was trying to figure it out and after one hour finally I was able to share, thought it was temp glitch, but same thing today.

If you use this app, can you try uploading a file and then sharing and see if it actually shares?

I am getting annoyed, but still hold on thinking it is just me as such an app should not have glitches like these..

I keep with dropbox as 2GB are enough for me and I do not wish my data ends up bad like megaupload's. For curiosity guys, what do you need 50GB for? What you put there? I am not fan of uploading my stuff where NSA have access to, so 2GB is enough, if need more I use encrypted usb drives and my own servers.

Dropbox is hiring lots of cool people for example the inventor of Python, stole him from Google:

                                                  http://www.forbes.com/sites/tomioger...do-van-rossum/

Also I was using some hosted python VM's service and few months ago it closed stating "we are hired by Dropbox", (damn!!) so dropbox is there to stay.

What's the difference between copy and dropbox in this regard?

By the way I do not think smart people keep crucial data there (data that they did not backup on local USB or somewhere else).
