It's amazing how many of these girls think that photographers never talk to each other or are unaware of who's shooting who. Last week I had a model apply and on her application she said she's brand new, never shot anything before. Meanwhile, she was on the tour of Teeny Black and I shot her earlier this year as well.

Nobody said they were bright.

I rarely have anything stolen these days. When giving models wardrobe and such, we keep a check list and make sure we collect it all again and take inventory of the items in the bathroom we allow them to use (we have a dedicated model bathroom specifically for this) before they get paid. We also have CCTV cameras all around and I usually have at least 1 assistant so we keep an eye on them most of the time.

The best way is to put everything away. Anything you leave laying around or on a counter is fair game.

AaronM, that is a simple and short list.... I think I could write here for days some of the stories that have happened around me.

The toilet paper deal is true for me too.

Tampons - by the box. In my studios days I would always have a box in a cabinet in the dressing room. Pretty much weekly the 48 count box would be empty... Models or make-up helpers taking them.

Small cameras and cell phone chargers are also common. I keep chargers to keep girls from going out to car to charge... but they take them. Small cameras for behind the scenes photos - missing by the handful over the last few years.

How about money? Once in a very devious way... It was a solo site model that had been around a long time. I mailed her monthly check and a few days later she told me it couldn't be cashed because I had missed typed the amount ($ numbers didn't match the words on the legal line). OK, my fault.... I FedEx her a new check and its cashed a day or two later. Then another week goes by and the original is also cashed. The girl, her loser boyfriend and another guy had driven around to a number of check cashing places until they found one where the clerk didn't notice the typing error and accepted the second one.

How about a minivan - TWICE and in part by the same girl but two different boys! Story is a bit strange but true.

Girl that did some modeling for TrueBabes is also working at studio in Florida. One day her car won't start so I let her take a minivan home about 6pm. At about 4am the next day cops are at my house wanting to know if I loaned my van to this guy (her boyfriend) that didn't have a driver's license. Of course I say no. They had stopped him outside some pot dealer's house and they ended up letting him go because she tells them that she allowed him to drive it. Fired her, but gave in and hired her back few weeks later.

One year later I am away from Florida for about 6 weeks. I come back and the next day I am driving the same minivan and get surrounded by cops... like something in a movie or that COPS TV show. Patrol cars, unmarked, guns out... scared the shit out of me. They drag me out, toss on ground, handcuff, then they realize I am not the guy they are looking for but I am in the van they are looking for. Turns out that same girl had let her then boyfriend use the van for some dirty dealings the weekend before by taking keys out of studio building.

Never hired her back after that and she is now in jail for robberies done with the first guy.

I make them turn their cell phones off while they are shooting. They are here to work, not text etc. If their phone dies, that's even better.

Theft

All things considered I have been lucky, very little taken. One time I shot a girl who brought a girlfriend, I shot the girlfriend too because she needed Christmas money, she repaid me by taking all my toys and some wrapped Christmas gifts I had stashed in the wardrobe room. Early on when I didn't know better, I let a boyfriend sit in and he kept leaving for a "smoke". After they left I discovered an entire camera outfit gone. They denied it. I used to shoot for a website that went out of business, they liked total amateur black girls with big butts and big tits, nearly 100% of whom had babies at home. I would shoot them and their friends all in the same day, they would pile in the car and come out and I would even feed them. Afterwards all my toilet paper stash, soap, and general bathroom supplies would be gone and all my drawers and cabinets would have been gone through. One time a girl took a dump and flooded the bathroom and instead of telling me she said she was stepping out for a smoke and never came back. What a mess. Another girl took her lunch break to look for a place to get some smokes and never came back, leaving all her worthless stuff. A week later I saw her sitting in the grass smoking and drinking beer with a local homeless drunk. One time I ran across a deal on a box of panties, about 300, for sale for $10 bucks, I bought it and put it in my wardrobe room. After about a year one of the girls took all that was left, she probably got 200 or more. I had the most trouble with male talent who would take food from my fridge out to their car. I used to keep a bucket I put my change into and male talent would take money out of it. Never did girl talent take my change or my food. Usually if I find something the girls leave behind I will mail it to them, it takes time and effort to do that but it is remarkable what a good impression it makes on the girl. One time I actually got robbed by a girl and three guys. But overall I feel my girls have been very honest. We need another thread of interesting stories.
