What a brilliant show.

Ricky Gervais shows his amazing talent as Derek

On the surface it seems like an oddball dark comedy but it's nothing like that, it's full of deep, poignant messages about life, especially ageing and disability.

I recommend it highly. I bought it on iTunes but it's on Netflix.

Yeah, I've heard people say they just don't get it - because they were expecting traditional comedy - but this isn't traditional comedy. It's about the human experience, using dark comedy as a vehicle to send quite profound messages.

Personally I think it's one of the most through provoking, endearing shows I have ever seen.

the messages are in no way subtle but its still a better comedy than most have been over the last year and it great seeing that round headed buffoon on the telly again.
