I'm playing around with reddit and one thing I would like to do is get about 20 friendly people who can upvote each others posts.

I'm on Reddit all the time if you post good stuff it gets up voted anyway if you post a direct link to your site it will get down voted nobody likes that if your going to post to imgur thats where you get up votes

Nobody likes direct links. I like friends though... and I will get some programming going to coordinate it. Sometimes it is better to work together ;)

Just remember to not post the same site too much. I noticed one site was posting in the same reddit over and over with a bunch of up votes. I think they got their domain banned.

i tried the " get some friends together and upvote" in the past .. it worked for about 10 post they counted all of the upvotes but then the system they use to filter out fake upvotes caught on and filtered atleast half of all of us

Good point. Maybe a random selection is needed.

I did a AMA a few months ago where I linked to some of our sites in the body with a special discount link and sales are still coming in.

Last time I checked it had like 2500 upvotes or something as I answered 90% of questions so it stayed on the front page of the AMA subreddit for quite some time.

I find it a big waste of time. Then again I find most social media sites a big waste of time. Getting traffic from them is getting harder too.
